When the Great Recession hit in 2008, David Harrison faced a choice: play it safe or pivot. Already a successful RNR Tire Express operator, he reimagined his business by shifting into suburban markets and tailoring marketing to resonate with his core customer base. The result? His Fort Smith, Arkansas store became an immediate success and still stands as one of the system’s top performers 15 years later.
Today, Harrison leads Rental Concepts as President and CEO, operating 44 RNR Tire Express locations with more in development. Under his leadership, the business generates $70 million in annual revenue, employs more than 350 people, and continues to expand with a goal of $100 million by 2030.
Harrison credits RNR’s unique lease-purchase model as the key to growth, offering customers affordable payment options for essential tires and wheels. But beyond sales, he’s driven by a passion for culture, mentorship, and creating life-changing opportunities for his team members.
“I was a poor kid from a poor community, but others invested in me,” Harrison says. “It’s not just about making one person’s life better – it’s about changing the trajectory of an entire bloodline.”
