FLORENCE, S.C. – Does your car need some RNR? You’re in luck.
Rent-N-Roll (RNR) RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels Tire Express & Custom Wheels opened its newest location in Florence on Monday, Oct. 2, at 1415 S. Irby St. The 6,000-square-foot store is the first franchise location in both the Pee Dee and Grand Strand regions and has a large selection of brand-name tires and wheels.
Founded in 2000, RNR Tire Express offers tires and custom wheels with payment plans. Customers can pay for their purchase in in weekly, bi-weekly or monthly installments with no credit hassles, according to owner Chris Raffo.
He operates 17 RNR Tire Express stores including locations throughout Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Raffo said he sees “great potential for the brand in Florence.”
“My team and I firmly believe in our company mission to be the best tire and wheel concept in America, and now we are bringing that to the Florence community,” Raffo said. “The unique demographics of the area make it the perfect fit for the RNR concept.”
Along with the tire and wheel selection, RNR’s experienced staff help ensure customers they are getting the right tire for their vehicle. Professional technicians at RNR offer a variety of services to help maintain customers’ new tires and wheels including installation, alignments, rotation and balance, roadside assistance and free repairs of flat tires.
RNR Tire Express fills each one of its tires with nitrogen instead of oxygen, according to store manager George Bernhardt. Bernhardt says the nitrogen provides a more reliable tire pressure than oxygen does, helping the driver maximize the car’s fuel efficiency and extend the life of the tire by 25 percent.
“Nitrogen stays completely stable so the tires don’t fluctuate,” Bernhardt said. “There are a ton of benefits to it. Every one of our machines uses nitrogen and it’s free for every customer.”
The Florence location is also the only licensed rough-country vendor in the area, Bernhardt said. RNR Tire Express offers off-road tires, wheels and other accessories such as lifts, leveling kits, light bars, and bull bars.
“Anything you want to do to make your truck look cool and off-road we can do it,” Bernhardt said.
Bernhardt has been a manager with RNR Tire Express for almost two years and he said the company creates a unique, community-oriented atmosphere through its pay-as-you-go business model.
“There is no business like this,” Bernhardt said. “If you go to a normal tire shop they expect you to pay upfront. We don’t. We really appeal to those people who are trying to ride safely but they’re on a budget.”
Since the business was founded in 2000, the franchise has opened nearly 100 store locations in 22 states. Over the past 29 months, RNR has opened a new location every month. Bernhardt said that in the near future, the franchise hopes to expand further into the Sumter and Myrtle Beach areas.
