TAMPA, Fla. — A Kansas business partnership involving a pair of rent-to-own industry veterans is expanding its franchising plans with RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels to include stores in Nebraska and Iowa.

Daniel Vail Investments L.L.C. recently disclosed plans to open as many as 29 RNR franchise locations in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa, building on the partnership’s business launch last year with a pair of stores in Kansas.

The partnership involves Geron Vail, an existing RNR franchisee with 18 RNR Tire Express stores in four states under his Rental Concepts Group, and Tim Daniel, an experienced rent-to-own businessman who is new to the automotive aftermarket.

“We look forward to bringing RNR’s affordable pay-as-you-go tires and custom wheels to the people of Nebraska and Iowa and continuing the brands growth throughout Kansas,” Mr. Daniel said.

“This agreement is a representation of the commitment our team has to providing premium tires and custom wheels to a growing market.”

The partnership opened RNR stores last year in Wichita and has opened two more, in Hutchinson and Topeka, Kan., since then.

The business partners plan to open 10 more RNR locations in Kansas and 16 stores in Nebraska and Iowa, the first RNR outlets in those states.

The business partners did not disclose a timeline for completing their initiative nor the budgeted investment for doing so.

The new stores will help RNR expand beyond 100 locations, the Tampa-based franchisor said. RNR’s business model offers weekly or monthly payment plans for its customers.

The RNR network has grown by an average of one store a month for the past 15 months and is sitting at 86 stores open, operated by 16 franchisees.

The Tampa-based franchisor said it is targeting Arizona, Colorado, New York and West Virginia as the next areas for development/recruitment. The initial franchise fee for RNR is $35,000 with single-unit investment ranging from $500,000 to $1 million.
