RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels wants to make mark in Parkersburg
PARKERSBURG — RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels, a Tampa, Fla.-based tire and custom wheel business, has marked Parkersburg in its West Virginia expansion, according to Vince Ficarrotta, the company’s vice president of franchise development.
“There is not a location yet for Parkersburg,” he said Friday. “It’s part of the West Virginia development plan. We have plans for six or seven locations. We intend on making Parkersburg one.”
RNR’s closest locations are in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Louisville, he said.
Founded in 2000 by rent-to-own veteran Larry Sutton, RNR has 92 locations with sold development rights for 234 more, Ficarrotta said.
“We think West Virginia and Parkersburg offers great opportunity. In Parkersburg, the rest of the county and the surrounding area in Ohio, there is about 90,000 people. I would think someone would do very well with that amount of population to draw from,” he said.
RNR offers what Ficarrotta said was “a very unique way of doing business.”
“You can get new tires on arrangement,” he said. “You have a base purchase option, which say the working man needs new tires for his vehicle,” he said. “He can come in and get a new set for say, maybe $20, then he has 120 days to pay the bill in full.
“A family shouldn’t have to buy used tires to make ends meet,” he said. “There’s a 12-month roadside program. And at any given time, you can return the tires. You just have to pay for the time you’ve used the tires and wheels. We’ll know who had the tires and wheels and for how long,” he said.
The flexible pay-as-you-go tire and wheel business model, RNR will carry custom passenger tires such as Goodyear, Firestone, Yokohama “as well as some private brands. Whatever the tire need, we are going to accommodate the customer.”
Ficarrotta said interested parties in becoming possible franchise owners can contact him at 1-813-368-5225 or at vince@RNRtires.com.
