RNR Tire Express rolling into Sioux City

IOUX CITY | Sometime in 2018, RNR Tire Express and Custom Wheels plans to roll into the Sioux City market.

The Tampa, Florida-based rent-to-own tire chain is in the midst of aggressive nationwide expansion campaign, with 100 new locations opening in 22 states over the last year.

Tim Daniel and his business partner, Geron Vail, of Daniel Vail Investments LLC, are the duo steering the brand into the Siouxland market. The two recently entered into an agreement to open 29 new RNR locations throughout Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

“Our program is a really unique program,” Daniel said. “We do rent-to-own on all wheels and tires and our concept is a low monthly — monthly, weekly, bi-weekly payments that fit your budget.

“Throughout most communities, the cost of tires are expensive and it’s a cost that you have to have on tires. People throwing around large amounts of money in this economy really hurts, so we’re able to give them a 120 days same as cash program and it helps them manage their budgets better, and I believe every community can use it.”

Flat repair, balance and alignment are all free services provided customers are current on their payments and there are no credit checks to either.

“They are not a traditional tire shop,” Daniel said. “We have very family friendly stores, about 6,000 square feet normally and the inside is very inviting and you’ll always be greeted by our employees and have a place to sit.”

Another unique aspect to the business is that there is a camera in the garage area that provides live footage in the showroom, so customers can watch the installation process live.

RNR also offers pickup and drop-off services. Customers can either leave their car at the shop, receive a ride to their destination of choice and have their vehicle brought back to them, or have it picked up and brought back wherever they wish.

So far Daniel and Vail have opened RNR stores in Oklahoma and Kansas, and the former said they are excited about bringing the tire service to Iowa.

“We are really looking forward to getting into Iowa and we think the concept will be well received,” Daniel said.
