RNR Tire Express Store Gives Single Mom a Car for Mother’s Day
RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels (RNR) in Jonesboro, Ark. picked one hardworking mom from thousands of entries as the winner of a brand new car.
David Harrison, owner of the RNR franchise in Jonesboro, presented Shereka Ray with a 2016 Buick Encore. Harrison created the Mother’s Day car giveaway based on his own experience. He and his three siblings were raised by a single mom, and he watched her sacrifice so she could provide her children with a normal childhood. By the time he was in his 20s, he was able to by his mother a new car, and said he could never forget “the overwhelming joy and appreciation” she expressed.
The winner of this year’s giveaway is also a single mom. Ray was chosen “due to her resilience overcoming adversity, devotion to motherhood, involvement in her community through helping victims of abuse, as well as her time spent serving in the military for the National Guard.”
The RNR store gave Ray the car, paid the sales tax and licensing fees, and also gave her a $500 gift card for fuel. Yokohama Tire Corp. also donated the first set of replacement tires to Ray.
“RNR’s commitment to positively impacting the lives of our dedicated associates and wonderful customers has always been at the forefront of our company’s core values,” says Larry Sutton, founder and president of RNR Tire Express & Custom Wheels. “Today was truly one of the proudest days I have ever experienced in business. It was an honor to help support such a deserving single mother and a true blessing for all those who played a role in making this event possible.”
